Last month, we immersed ourselves in a journey of knowledge and in-depth dialog during the long-awaited Carbon Market Masterclass. This initiative was a direct response to the growing demands of our Chapters, who expressed a fervent interest in understanding the intricate web of the carbon market and its impact on local communities.
The decision to conduct this activity was not taken lightly. With the urgency of the global debate on climate change and the pressing need for sustainable strategies, we believe that understanding the carbon market is vital. Even more crucial is contextualizing it within local communities, ensuring that solutions are inclusive and fair.
The Carbon Market Masterclass, held last month, was attended by 13 people and moderated by Isabel Mesquita. The speakers were Bruna Bauer and Juliana Magalhâes who brought technical knowledge in na easy way and a practical understanding of the challenges faced by local communities. The sessions covered a variety of topics, from the context, fundamental principles of the carbon market, credit pricing, among other subjects.
As we bring this edition of the Carbon Market Masterclass to a close, we can see a number of opportunities and developments. The insights gained have the potential to inform our Chapters’ future strategies.
Ultimately, we are committed to empowering our Chapters with the tools and understanding they need to lead change in their communities. Stay tuned for upcoming learning opportunities and the continued evolution of this conversation.
